While some central vacuum sites claim
the be "internet watchdogs" only to report information that will help
their sales,
we strive to keep you up to date on what is actually
going on in the central vacuum industry.
Today we want to talk about central vacuum motors and some misleading
information that may be found on other central vacuum sites. While
Lamb Ametek motors are currently the most popular motors in central
vacuum systems, they are not necessarily the best. Just like
everything else in this world, nothing last forever, not even being
the best motor for a central vacuum. Until recent years Lamb Ametek
was the industry leader in central vacuum motors, and with little to
no competition they were able to have their motors manufactured in
Mexico leading to many performance problems. These recent
problems have prompted major central vacuum companies such as Drainvac,
Dust Care, Aggresor, PurVac and others to make the move to the more dependable,
powerful Domel motors.
While top companies like Drainvac and PurVac have already realized the
benefits of these strong European made motors, rumor has it that Beam Industries, the
largest central vacuum manufacture in the world, will soon follow suit
implementing Domels motors in 100% of their units by the end of 2009.
If you notice, all three of the companies mentioned have 10 year
motor warranties, the best in the industry. We don't think that is a
coincidence. It's also no coincidence that Domel motors can be found
in major commercial vacuums such as ProTeam, the leading commercial
backpack vacuum company.
While some of the larger American manufactured Lamb Ametek motors
